Fluorescent material such as Frac Tracers can also be exited in the UV to emit in the visible range. Wilson Analytical's LabBox or Open Platform System (OPS) can be used to identify the presence and concentration of the intrinsically fluorescent Frac Tracer

Nanochemistry-based fluorescent reagents
Nanoparticles can be used in the oil industry as a non-toxic thermally stable reservoir tracers. The fluorescent silica nanoparticles are stable at temperatures up to 250°C, and specifically designed for tracking solutions. Wilson Analytical's instrumentation can be used to identify the presence of the fluorescent silica nanoparticles with a ppm detection limit. The LabBox is intended for a nearby lab, and the Open Platform System (OPS) allows for one t perform various tests for the research; however both Wilson's instruments provide a ppm detection limit.
